Payette National Forest

The Payette National Forest is comprised of 2.3 million acres and employs 220 people year round.  The forest stretches from Hell's Canyon to the west to the Middle Fork of the Salmon River to the east in the Frank Church River of No Return Wilderness, one of the largest wilderness areas in the lower 48.  The forest offer a wide variety of recreational and business opportunities, including 30 campgrounds, 3 ski areas, and snowmobiling over some of the most remote and beautiful areas of the west.
